TDAP Consultation in Chaman Boosts Pakistan-Afghanistan Trade

A recent consultative session in Chaman focused on exploring profitable opportunities in Pakistan-Afghanistan barter trade and the effective implementation of the Temporary Admission Document (TAD). Organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) in collaboration with Pakistan Customs and the Chaman Chamber of Commerce, the event aimed to enhance trade relations between the two countries.

The session included presentations by TDAP Quetta representatives on the Business-to-Business (B2B) Barter Trade Mechanism, 2023, emphasizing export growth. Insights into TAD development and its implications were shared by officials from the Ministry of Commerce and Pak Customs.

Prominent figures like ex-president Daroo Khan and executive member Jalat Khan praised TDAP for facilitating dialogue with stakeholders. They stressed the importance of engaging the business community in Chaman and Balochistan on TAD issuance.

Industry experts raised concerns during the session, including registration fees, trade operation timelines, and truck registration challenges. Discussions highlighted the benefits of barter trade in strengthening economic ties with neighboring countries.

The session concluded with an agreement on the Ministry of Commerce's commitment to engaging stakeholders for practical policy development, ensuring mutual benefits for all parties involved.
