US Officials Meet Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Collaboration Talks

The Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy, Andrew Shofer, and US Consul General in Peshawar, Shante Moore, recently held a meeting with Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor’s House. The meeting aimed to discuss matters of mutual interest and strengthen ties between the US and Pakistan.

During the meeting, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi was congratulated on assuming office, and discussions revolved around collaboration between US development agencies and the provincial government. Both parties also explored opportunities for bilateral cooperation in various sectors.

Emphasizing the importance of fostering two-way relations between the US and Pakistan, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa highlighted the crucial role of peace in driving development and prosperity, particularly in regions affected by terrorism.

Furthermore, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed a desire for positive relations with neighbouring countries, including Afghanistan. He commended the hospitality extended to Afghan refugees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and mentioned the ongoing repatriation process of illegal Afghan refugees.

Deputy Chief of Mission Andrew Shofer underscored the presence of American development and aid organizations in the province, actively engaged in initiatives aimed at enhancing public welfare.
