Ukraine's President Zelensky to meet Spanish PM Sanchez in Spain for bilateral talks, focusing on strengthening ties and cooperation between the two nations.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to meet with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez in Spain on Monday. This meeting comes more than two years after Russia's invasion of Ukraine and marks Zelensky's first official trip to Spain since taking office in 2019.

The meeting, set for noon, will be followed by a joint press conference. King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia will also host a lunch in honor of the Ukrainian leader at the palace. The visit, initially planned for mid-May, was postponed due to the ongoing Russian offensive in northern Ukraine.

During his address to the Spanish parliament, Sanchez announced that both countries are working towards signing a bilateral cooperation agreement to strengthen economic, social, and institutional ties.

President Zelensky's visit to Spain holds significant importance in enhancing the relationship between Ukraine and Spain. The discussions and agreements reached during this visit are expected to pave the way for increased cooperation and mutual benefits for both nations.
