During a meeting in Beijing, China and Pakistan discuss investment opportunities in communication projects, focusing on the Karachi Circular Railway. During a recent meeting in Beijing, the Chairman of China Northern Industry Corporation engaged in discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan regarding potential investments in communication projects, with a particular focus on the Karachi Circular Railway. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the government's efforts to attract foreign investment, including the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.

Underlining the strong bilateral relationship between Pakistan and China, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the ongoing collaboration and expressed appreciation for the Chairman's positive feedback on the government-supervised projects.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan's dedication to improving governance, expanding the tax base, and enhancing the business environment to draw foreign direct investment. He also discussed the successful implementation of reform measures, which have resulted in better control of food inflation, reduction of the current account deficit, and the stabilization of public debt.

Moreover, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan's keen interest in harnessing Chinese expertise to bolster the agriculture sector and highlighted investment opportunities such as the ML-1 upgradation project and the revival of the Karachi Circular Railway project.

The discussions with President of China Exim Bank Dr. Wu Fulin centered on the bank's assistance in modernizing Pakistan's industries, agriculture, and IT sectors. They also explored potential joint venture projects and trade financing options to boost Pakistan's exports in global markets.

Dr. Wu Fulin reaffirmed China Exim Bank's commitment to prioritizing projects in Pakistan and stressed the significance of economic cooperation under CPEC Phase II, underscoring the strategic partnership between China Exim Bank and Pakistan in advancing sustainable development for shared prosperity.
