The Ferozepur Road Industrial Association urges the government to address energy crisis and bureaucratic hurdles to enhance export competitiveness and industrial growth.

The Ferozepur Road Industrial Association (FRIA) has called upon the government to address the pressing energy crisis affecting the value-added industry. FRIA emphasizes the need to reduce the high cost of doing business to enhance competitiveness both locally and globally. Key areas of concern include improving ease of doing business, reducing production costs, expediting refunds, easing import regulations for raw materials, and standardizing energy tariffs nationwide.

Pakistan currently ranks 147th out of 190 countries in global business rankings due to bureaucratic hurdles, as highlighted by FRIA. The association stresses the negative impact of government departments on manufacturers and exporters, advocating for a more supportive environment. To boost exports, FRIA recommends embracing diverse marketing strategies, adopting new technologies, and preparing for international challenges.

FRIA underscores the importance of research and knowledge-sharing with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to effectively tackle industry challenges. Government support is anticipated to enhance exports and address trade-related issues at both macro and micro levels. Encouraging economic growth is deemed crucial for industry development and export expansion.

Maximizing value addition in finished products is identified as crucial for leveraging the benefits of the GSP Plus status, rather than solely exporting raw materials. FRIA advocates for relaxed import policies to facilitate value addition and overcome business constraints. The establishment of task forces at regional, provincial, and central levels, coupled with sector-specific policies, is proposed to address exporters' concerns and promote industrial growth.

The government is urged to recognize the industry's potential for job creation and economic growth by implementing aggressive marketing strategies, streamlining export policies, and making prompt decisions in favor of exports. Collaboration with key stakeholders is highlighted as essential for driving export-led industrialization and economic prosperity.

The Ferozepur Road Industrial Association's call for government action to support the value-added industry and enhance export competitiveness underscores the need for proactive measures to address industry challenges. By prioritizing ease of doing business, reducing costs, and fostering a supportive environment, Pakistan can pave the way for sustainable industrial growth and economic prosperity.
