Ghazanfar Qadri announces a Rs. 3.2 billion package to revitalize Hyderabad SITE, focusing on infrastructure development and industrial growth, addressing key challenges faced by industrialists.

The Managing Director of Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE), Ghazanfar Qadri, has unveiled a significant Rs. 3.2 billion package aimed at revitalizing the Hyderabad SITE area. This announcement was made during a gathering with members of the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI). The package, once government funds are disbursed, will kickstart various development projects crucial for the industrial sector in the region.

Qadri stressed the pivotal role of industrialists in propelling the economy forward and generating employment opportunities. As part of the package, plans are in place to establish digitized online facilitation centers to assist industrialists efficiently. Additionally, a substantial amount of Rs. 3 billion has been earmarked for a drainage and treatment project to enhance infrastructure within the SITE area.

One key requirement highlighted by Qadri is the necessity for industrialists in the SITE area to obtain a no objection certificate from SITE before fulfilling tax obligations to other departments. He also shed light on the financial dynamics of SITE, revealing that the Sindh government does not provide direct funding, with employee salaries and pensions sustained through collected tenancy fees. Efforts are underway to optimize these funds for the betterment of SITE.

HCCI President Adeel Siddiqui expressed confidence in SITE's commitment to addressing industrialists' concerns, recognizing their substantial contribution to the country's GDP. He raised pertinent issues such as deteriorating infrastructure, frequent accidents, water supply challenges, and encroachment problems in the area.

Siddiqui further highlighted the delays industrialists face in acquiring plots despite payment and emphasized the urgent need for a new industrial zone to expedite industrial activities. Former Sindh Assembly Member Nadeem Ahmed Siddiqui emphasized the significance of ramping up industrialization in Sindh and improving road conditions within SITE to offer streamlined services to industrialists.

The announcement of the Rs. 3.2 billion package for the Hyderabad SITE area signifies a crucial step towards bolstering industrial growth and infrastructure development. With a focus on addressing key challenges faced by industrialists, this initiative aims to create a more conducive environment for business operations and economic progress in the region.
