Government Allocates Record Budget for Power Sector Development

The government has allocated a budget of Rs267,952.773 million for various ongoing and new projects in the power sector as part of the annual Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2024-25. This allocation aims to enhance the country's power infrastructure and meet the growing energy demands.

Of the total budget, Rs113,760.301 million has been allocated for ongoing projects under the PSDP, ensuring the continuity of existing initiatives. Additionally, Rs17,401 million has been earmarked for new projects, signaling the government's commitment to expanding and improving the power sector.

Moreover, Rs136,791.472 million from the government's own resources will be utilized for the power sector, highlighting the importance placed on sustainable energy development in the upcoming fiscal year.
