The Interest-Free Loan (IFL) scheme by PPAF in Pakistan empowers families through interest-free loans for small businesses, reducing poverty and fostering financial independence.

The Interest-Free Loan (IFL) scheme, spearheaded by the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), is making significant strides in financially empowering impoverished families nationwide. This flagship initiative aims to promote financial inclusion and reduce poverty by providing interest-free loans to households in over 100 districts across Pakistan. By offering loans for small businesses, the IFL programme enables impoverished families to establish income-generating enterprises, fostering economic self-sufficiency and enhancing their quality of life.

One beneficiary, Ameeran Bibi from Gharibabad, Piplan, Mianwali, shared her success story after availing an interest-free micro loan. Ameeran, who comes from a long line of pottery makers, lacked the financial means to sustain her family business. With the help of the IFL programme, she was able to purchase raw materials and expand her pottery business, providing stability for her family and allowing her son to help manage the shop while attending school.

Another recipient, Abdul Wadood from District Sherani, Balochistan, expressed his gratitude for the programme, which significantly boosted his business after receiving two interest-free loans. Similarly, Saira Bibi from Bahawalpur utilized the IFL Programme to kickstart her jewelry business, now earning up to Rs. 60,000 monthly and employing five individuals.

These success stories highlight the transformative impact of the IFL programme in empowering individuals to achieve financial independence and create sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families.
