Lesco sees a significant increase in protected customers, implementing a new pro-rata billing system to enhance accuracy and address customer concerns.
The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has announced a significant increase in the number of protected customers this year. The total count of protected customers has risen from 1,678,129 to 2,181,088, marking a notable increase of 502,959 compared to the previous year. Lesco currently serves a total of 4,971,377 customers in the domestic category, with only 49,753 customers transitioning out of the protected status this month, representing just one percent of the total domestic customer base.
Lesco's recent implementation of a new billing system, the pro-rata system, has been highlighted as a key factor in this development. This system automatically generates bills based on the specific days of the month, aiming to eliminate any discrepancies that may have arisen from manual meter readings. The company has acknowledged past complaints of over-billing from customers and expressed regret for any inconveniences caused in this regard.
The increase in protected customers and the introduction of the pro-rata billing system by Lesco signify a positive step towards ensuring a more accurate and efficient billing process for its customers. With a focus on addressing customer concerns and improving service delivery, Lesco continues to strive for excellence in its operations.
