The inauguration of Pakistan's Nawaz Sharif IT City Project in Lahore by CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif marks a significant milestone in the country's technological advancement. The event highlighted key initiatives to propel the IT sector forward, including tax incentives, youth empowerment programs, and plans for the development of a comprehensive IT ecosystem.

The Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, recently inaugurated Pakistan's groundbreaking Nawaz Sharif IT City Project in Lahore. The event marked a significant milestone in the country's technological advancement, with the unveiling of the official project logo and the presentation of a documentary showcasing the project's objectives.

During the ceremony, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the CBD Authority and 15 prominent IT & Education companies, solidifying their commitment to the development of the IT City. Awards were also presented to individuals who have excelled in the Information Technology sector, recognizing their contributions to the industry.

The CEO of the CBD Authority outlined the project's key objectives, highlighting the establishment of Pakistan's first Data Centre within the IT City. The event was graced by ambassadors from various countries, underscoring the international significance of the project.

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the pivotal role of the IT City in propelling Pakistan's IT sector forward, envisioning an IT revolution in the country. She announced the tax-free status of the IT City for a decade, aiming to attract investment and foster innovation in the technology sector.

Plans for the development of an IT and Tech District, Knowledge City, and Film City within the project were discussed, showcasing the comprehensive approach towards technological advancement. The Knowledge City is set to host international universities, while the Film City will leverage modern technology to boost the film industry.

Furthermore, the CM underscored the importance of youth development in the IT sector, unveiling initiatives such as a Skills Development Program and free licensing opportunities for IT course graduates. Additional plans included the provision of Free Wifi across Punjab, the relaunch of the laptop scheme, and the distribution of E-bikes to young girls, demonstrating a holistic approach towards empowering the youth.

The event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including federal and provincial ministers, highlighting the government's unwavering commitment to fostering technological advancements in the region.
