The Punjab Central Business District Development Authority and Pakistan Software Export Board signed an MoU to establish Nawaz Sharif IT City, boosting Punjab's IT sector in alignment with the Chief Minister's vision.

The Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), also known as Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab), and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) have recently signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish Pakistan's leading IT hub, Nawaz Sharif IT City. This initiative is in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif to boost the IT sector in the region. The collaboration between CBD Punjab and PSEB aims to enhance the global competitiveness of Punjab's IT industry and drive sustainable growth within the sector. By pooling resources, the two entities plan to create extensive databases of entrepreneurs and freelancers in the province, providing them with support and opportunities to thrive. This joint effort seeks to position Punjab as a dynamic center for innovation and entrepreneurship.

The MoU signing ceremony, held at the conclusion of ITCN Asia, was attended by key figures from the IT and corporate sectors, including H.E. Dima Yahya, Secretary General of the Digital Corporation Organization, Minister for State IT & Communication Shiza Fatima Khawaja, and various directors from CBD Punjab. The MoU was signed by Imran Amin, CEO of CBD Punjab, and Humera Ayesha Moirani, CEO of PSEB. Moving forward, CBD Punjab and PSEB will work together to strengthen the crucial link between academia and the IT industry, fostering a more robust ecosystem for technological advancement.
