Pakistan's transport services sector experiences a positive trend in exports, with sea transport services playing a significant role in the growth despite fluctuations in specific categories. Air transport exports show a slight decrease, reflecting the sector's resilience and potential for further expansion.

Pakistan's transport services sector has seen a positive trend in exports during the first eight months of the fiscal year 2023-24. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the country earned US $614.947 million through providing transport services to various countries, marking a 1.99 percent increase from the same period last year.

Sea transport services emerged as a significant contributor to this growth, with exports increasing by 10.44 percent. While freight services exports experienced a decline of 48.59 percent, other sea transport services saw a substantial rise of 78.56 percent.

On the other hand, air transport exports witnessed a slight decrease of 2.62 percent, totaling $413.647 million during July-February 2023-24.

The positive growth in Pakistan's transport services exports reflects the sector's resilience and potential for further expansion. The increase in sea transport services exports, despite fluctuations in specific categories, highlights the diversification and competitiveness of Pakistan's transport industry on the global stage.
