Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended a warm invitation to Chinese companies, particularly in the textile industry, to establish factories in Pakistan. This move aims to strengthen economic ties between the two nations and boost Pakistan's industrial sector. During a recent meeting, Shehbaz emphasized the government's commitment to providing full support to Chinese entrepreneurs looking to invest in Pakistan.

Highlighting the importance of China as a key partner in Pakistan's economic development, the Prime Minister expressed a desire to enhance collaboration across various sectors. He outlined plans to deepen cooperation with China in agriculture, information technology, and energy, while also focusing on increasing Pakistani exports to China.

Shehbaz discussed the upcoming phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which includes transforming Gwadar port into a strategic logistics hub with Chinese assistance. Additionally, the establishment of Agriculture Demonstration Zones was proposed to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Emphasizing the potential for China to support Pakistan in improving its export strategy, Shehbaz instructed relevant ministries to develop new projects that would benefit both countries. He reassured Chinese citizens of foolproof security measures in Pakistan and highlighted the comprehensive security plan in place to safeguard their interests.

Prime Minister Shehbaz is scheduled to visit China in June following an invitation from President Xi Jinping. The Chinese government has reiterated its commitment to collaborating with Pakistan to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel in the country. In light of the recent terrorist attack in Dasu, where five Chinese nationals tragically lost their lives, Beijing has pledged support in investigating the incident.

In response to the attack, Pakistan has urged Afghanistan to apprehend the leaders of the banned TTP group, as investigations revealed that the attackers entered Pakistan from Afghanistan. Subsequently, 11 suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident. The federal cabinet has approved a compensation package of $2.58 million for the families of the victims, demonstrating Pakistan's commitment to addressing such security challenges.
