Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has taken a significant step towards combating corruption by partnering with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). This collaboration aims to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of corruption and educate the youth on the importance of integrity and transparency in society.

During an anti-corruption awareness seminar organized at AIOU, Prof. Dr. Abdul Aziz Sahir, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, highlighted the urgent need to address corruption as a root cause of societal evils and a barrier to socio-economic development. Dr. Sahir proposed the implementation of educational initiatives such as short courses, seminars, workshops, and awareness campaigns across AIOU's 54 campuses in various cities, in partnership with NAB.

The seminar, a collaborative effort between the Directorate of Student Affairs at AIOU and NAB Rawalpindi, featured insightful speeches from Director Abdul Khaliq, Prof. Dr. Mohyuddin Hashmi, and Dr. Syed Imran Haider. These speakers emphasized the destructive impact of corruption on society, likening it to a termite that weakens the foundation of a nation.

Dr. Hashmi underlined that corruption poses an internal threat greater than external enemies, emphasizing the moral and religious dimensions of the issue. Director NAB, Abdul Khaliq, stressed the crucial role of youth in the fight against corruption, highlighting the significance of awareness and activism in eradicating this menace.

Furthermore, the seminar witnessed engaging speeches by two female and two male students in Urdu and English, shedding light on the harmful consequences of corruption and advocating for collective efforts to address this pressing issue.

The collaboration between AIOU and NAB signifies a proactive approach towards combating corruption and promoting ethical values among the youth. By fostering awareness and education on the detrimental effects of corruption, this partnership aims to instill a sense of responsibility and integrity in the future leaders of Pakistan, paving the way for a more transparent and accountable society.
