Al-Shifa Trust's Light House in Rawalpindi has been a ray of hope for over 65,000 eye patients in the last fifteen years. Established in 2009, the 'Low Vision Rehabilitation Centre, Light House,' aims to assist individuals of all ages and backgrounds in overcoming the challenges of low vision or blindness that cannot be treated through conventional medicine or surgery.

President of Al-Shifa Trust, Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Rehmat Khan, highlighted the center's commitment to providing cutting-edge facilities for individuals with low vision or blindness. With separate sections catering to different age groups, the center offers a range of services including in-home needs assessments, vision examinations, and specialized tools like electronic video magnifiers to enhance daily living activities.

The Junior Corner at Light House focuses on empowering young individuals through educational support, including special electronic and TV magnifiers, computer software for screen magnification, and unique gadgets for entertainment. Additionally, a Parent Centre assists parents in understanding and addressing their children's visual impairments.

Furthermore, the center offers job training experiences and social activities to help youngsters transition confidently into the practical world. By providing a holistic approach to low vision and blindness, Light House is enabling individuals to lead safe, independent, and productive lives.
