"Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar" Program Launched in Punjab for Low-Income Housing

The issue of housing for low-income families has long been a pressing concern in Pakistan, particularly in Punjab. At a recent cheque distribution ceremony held in Hazro town, Attock, Jahangir Khanzada, a member of the district monitoring committee and former provincial minister, emphasized the government's commitment to public welfare. He stated that the program aims to provide loans specifically for building houses, thereby allowing thousands of families to achieve the dream of homeownership.

One of the key features of the "Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar" program is its monthly ballot system, which will be used to select beneficiaries. Successful applicants will receive interest-free loans that are repayable over a period of nine years. This means that families will not only have the opportunity to build their homes but will also be able to do so without the burden of high-interest rates. Eligibility for the program includes owners of one to five marla of land in urban areas and up to 10 marla in rural areas. The government aims to finance 100,000 homes within this year alone, which is a remarkable goal.

Khanzada expressed optimism about Pakistan's future, asserting that the country is on a path of progress. He criticized the opposition's protests and unrest, stating, "The politics of chaos and division is dying, and soon, these forces will be a thing of the past." This sentiment reflects a growing belief among many that the government is taking the right steps to improve the lives of its citizens.
