The Dhee Rani Program in Punjab offers financial aid and collective weddings for underprivileged families, easing wedding expenses.
In a significant move aimed at alleviating the financial burdens faced by underprivileged families in Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has officially launched the "Dhee Rani Program". This initiative, also referred to as the "Collective Marriages Programme", is designed to assist deserving parents in fulfilling their socio-religious obligations of marriage in a dignified manner. Given the current economic challenges, many families find it increasingly difficult to afford the expenses associated with weddings. This program seeks to address that pressing issue.
The "Dhee Rani Program" is specifically tailored for families who are struggling financially. To be eligible for this program, applicants must meet certain criteria, ensuring that the support reaches those who need it the most. One of the key features of the program is the provision of a dowry valued at "206,000 Pakistani Rupees". This amount is intended to help ease the financial strain on families during the wedding process.
In addition to the dowry, the program also offers a monetary gift of "100,000 Pakistani Rupees" to the bride. This amount will be distributed through an ATM card, providing the bride with financial independence and support as she embarks on this new chapter of her life. Furthermore, the program organizes collective wedding ceremonies for "3,000 poor girls" across Punjab. This not only reduces the overall costs associated with weddings but also fosters a sense of community and celebration among families.
For those who may have complaints or concerns regarding the program, there is a straightforward process in place. Individuals can submit their complaints through a web form available on the official portal. It is essential to provide detailed information, including full name, CNIC, district, contact number, complaint type, category, sub-category, and specific complaint details.
The "Dhee Rani Program" represents a commendable effort by the Punjab government to support families in need during a critical time. By providing financial assistance and organizing collective weddings, the program not only helps to ease the burden of wedding expenses but also promotes a sense of community and shared joy. As this initiative unfolds, it is hoped that it will bring relief to many families and contribute positively to the social fabric of Punjab.
