Comsats University Wah Campus awarded 925 degrees in a grand convocation ceremony, celebrating academic excellence and future contributions.
On a momentous day for the students of Comsats University Islamabad (CUI), Wah Campus, a grand convocation ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad. This event marked a significant milestone for 925 graduating students who received their degrees at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The disciplines represented included Management Sciences, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics, showcasing the diverse academic offerings of the university.
Among the graduates, thirty-three students were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements with gold, silver, and bronze medals. This recognition not only highlights their hard work but also sets a benchmark for future students. Additionally, 13 graduates proudly received their PhD degrees in various fields, including Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Management Sciences, further emphasizing the university's commitment to advanced education.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, who served as the chief guest. His presence added prestige to the event and underscored the importance of higher education in the country. During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, the Director of CUI Wah Campus, delivered a comprehensive report on the campus's achievements. He highlighted the establishment of the Department of Humanities, the launch of new Master Programs, and ongoing developmental projects, including the installation of a solar energy system and the construction of transport parking sheds.
One of the most exciting updates shared by Prof. Dr. Abid was the nearing completion of the mega project, Academic Block-I. This new facility is expected to be fully operational for academic activities starting from the Spring 2025 semester, which begins in February 2025. Such developments not only enhance the campus infrastructure but also provide students with better learning environments.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Abid congratulated the graduates and their families, acknowledging the hard work and dedication that led to this achievement. He encouraged the graduates to continue their pursuit of knowledge and excellence in their future endeavors. He also emphasized the university's impressive rankings, state-of-the-art laboratories, scholarship opportunities, and the highly qualified faculty available to support students.
