On May 4, 2024, District Emergency Officer (DEO) Rawalpindi, Engr. Sibghat Ullah, highlighted the dedication, courage, and timely response of firefighters in handling fire emergencies. The occasion marked International Firefighters Day, commemorating the sacrifices made by Australian firefighters in 1999. Engr. Sibghat Ullah praised the bravery and selfless service of firefighters worldwide, emphasizing their readiness to protect the nation.

During the year 2023, 1330 incidents were reported, with 96 lives saved and property worth Rs. 2103.82 million protected by Rescue-1122 in Rawalpindi. Despite facing tragic incidents resulting in 15 casualties, the emergency service demonstrated its commitment to saving lives and property.

DEO Rawalpindi highlighted the importance of timely information for successful firefighting operations and mentioned the introduction of modern safety procedures in the Punjab Emergency Service. The spokesperson, Muhammad Usman, paid tribute to 13 firefighters who sacrificed their lives during a past operation, emphasizing the high morale and professional preparedness of rescue personnel.

Since its establishment in 2004, Rescue-1122 has evolved into Pakistan's largest and most effective emergency management system under the leadership of Dr. Rizwan Naseer. The service's rich experience in handling various emergencies has been instrumental in its success, with a focus on knowledge and practical experience in providing assistance.
