The Interior Minister of Islamabad is driving initiatives for a sustainable future, including transitioning to electric vehicles, improving emergency services, and enhancing public transportation and infrastructure development in the city.

The Interior Minister of Islamabad has taken a significant step towards combating environmental pollution by directing the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to switch to electric bikes for future purchases. This move aims to promote a greener environment in the city. Plans are also underway to introduce eco-friendly electric buses to enhance public transportation for the residents of Islamabad.

During a recent meeting led by the Interior Minister, it was decided to ban the procurement of petrol motorcycles in Islamabad. The focus is on providing high-quality emergency services that meet international standards to the citizens of the capital.

The efforts to elevate Islamabad to global benchmarks include transitioning the CDA to electric bikes and introducing electric buses for a more sustainable public transportation system. Additionally, emergency services will be transferred to the CDA, and plans are in place for the establishment of Capital WASA, the Capital Waste Management Company, and the construction of key infrastructure projects like an Underpass at Serena Chowk and a Flyover at F-9 Park Chowk.

The Interior Minister stressed the importance of completing the Islamabad Expressway project promptly. Progress is also being made on the long-awaited Islamabad Model Jail, with the first phase nearing completion.

These initiatives highlight Islamabad's commitment to a sustainable future and improved infrastructure. The city's transition to electric vehicles and the focus on enhancing emergency services and public transportation demonstrate a proactive approach towards environmental conservation and citizen welfare.
