In a significant breakthrough for law enforcement in Multan, police have successfully apprehended three notorious dacoits, recovering stolen valuables worth over Rs 25.8 million. This incident highlights the ongoing battle against crime in the region, particularly the alarming rise in home robberies that have left many residents feeling vulnerable.
The events unfolded on July 28, when four armed criminals invaded the home of Muhammad Gulzar, a resident of Muhallah Malik Muraad, located within the jurisdiction of the Kup police station. The dacoits held Gulzar's family hostage at gunpoint, stealing a staggering amount of cash, which totaled over Rs 16.7 million, along with 117 tola of gold ornaments, mobile phones, and other valuables. Following this brazen act, the local police registered case number 201/24 against the unidentified outlaws and initiated a thorough investigation.
In response to this alarming incident, Chief Police Officer (CPO) Sadiq Ali Dogar took decisive action by forming a special team led by Superintendent of Police (SP) City Hassan Raza Khakhi. This team was tasked with tracking down the criminals responsible for this heinous act. Their efforts bore fruit when they arrested three suspects: Muhammad Husnain, Hamid Ali, and Muhammad Sajid, also known as Choha. The police recovered a substantial amount of looted property, including Rs 8.6 million in cash, 40 tola of gold ornaments, and illegal weapons from the suspects' possession.
During a press conference held on Saturday, CPO Sadiq Ali Dogar revealed that this gang was not only involved in the robbery of Gulzar's home but had also been linked to several other house robberies in the area. He emphasized the need for vigilance among residents, urging them to report any suspicious activities to the authorities. Furthermore, he announced that special teams are currently working to apprehend three additional gang members: Naved, Ghulam Ali, and Imran, also known as Mota, assuring the public that their arrests are imminent.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of community awareness and cooperation with law enforcement. As the police continue their efforts to combat crime, it is crucial for residents to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding their homes. By working together, communities can help create a safer environment for everyone, reducing the chances of such criminal activities occurring in the future.
