Bani Gala police arrest 500 criminals in ten months, seizing drugs and illegal arms to enhance public safety in Islamabad.
In a significant effort to combat crime and enhance public safety, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, particularly the Bani Gala police teams, have undertaken a rigorous crackdown on criminal activities over the past ten months. During this extensive operation, the Bani Gala police have successfully arrested a total of 500 individuals involved in various criminal activities. These arrests have led to the recovery of cash and valuables exceeding Rs 12 million, showcasing the police's commitment to tackling crime head-on. The operations have not only focused on general criminal activities but have also targeted specific issues such as drug trafficking and illegal arms possession.
As part of the ongoing "Nasha Ab Nahi" movement, which aims to eradicate drug abuse and trafficking, the Bani Gala police have apprehended 50 drug dealers. In these operations, they seized a staggering 13 kilograms of hashish, 16 kilograms of heroin, 1 kilogram of ice, and 170 liters of liquor. This highlights the police's determination to rid the community of harmful substances that threaten the well-being of its citizens.
Moreover, the police have conducted extensive operations against individuals possessing illegal firearms. In this regard, 50 suspects were arrested, and authorities recovered 10 rifles, 40 pistols, and 180 rounds of ammunition. Such actions are crucial in ensuring that dangerous weapons do not fall into the wrong hands, thereby enhancing the safety of the community.
The police have also focused on apprehending proclaimed offenders and court fugitives, resulting in the arrest of 200 absconders from various areas. This comprehensive approach demonstrates the police's commitment to maintaining law and order in Islamabad.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ali Raza has emphasized that the Islamabad Police are utilizing all available resources to eliminate drug dealers and criminal elements from the federal capital. He has assured the public that those involved in the heinous crimes of drug and alcohol trafficking will face justice.
