The National Highway Authority plans to raise toll taxes on key highways, affecting various vehicle categories from July 1, 2024. Commuters and businesses are advised to prepare for the revised toll rates.

The National Highway Authority (NHA) has recently revealed plans to raise toll taxes on several key National Highways starting July 1, 2024. The toll hike will impact highways such as M1, M3, M4, M5, and the Havelian Mansehra Expressway, affecting various types of vehicles.

Under the new rates, toll taxes for different vehicle categories will be adjusted. For example, car toll tax on national highways will climb from Rs 30 to Rs 40. Wagon toll tax will increase from Rs 50 to Rs 70, and bus toll tax will jump from Rs 100 to Rs 130.

On the M1 motorway, car toll tax will rise from Rs 240 to Rs 360, while wagon toll tax will go up from Rs 400 to Rs 550. The toll for 13 to 14-seat coasters on the M1 will increase from Rs 550 to Rs 700, and bus toll tax on the same motorway will surge from Rs 700 to Rs 1000.

Moreover, two to three-axle trucks will face an increase from Rs 120 to Rs 150 on national highways, and heavy trucks will see a hike from Rs 250 to Rs 350. On the M5 motorway, car toll tax will escalate from Rs 680 to Rs 900.

The NHA's decision to raise toll taxes on major highways will impact commuters and businesses using these routes. It is essential for travelers to be aware of these changes and plan their journeys accordingly to accommodate the revised toll rates.
