Pakistan and UK Strengthen Law Enforcement Collaboration

Pakistan and the United Kingdom have taken a significant step towards enhancing collaboration in law enforcement by signing a Letter of Intent (LoI). The agreement, finalized during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and British Home Secretary James Cleverly in London, aims to improve coordination between their respective agencies in handling criminal cases.

The focus of this partnership is to address issues such as illegal migration, strengthen cooperation in drug prevention, and enhance the investigation of serious crimes. This joint effort is crucial in combating illicit activities and providing mutual assistance in monitoring criminal activities at air and sea borders.

Overseen by a Joint Steering Committee consisting of representatives from the Interior Ministry, the National Police Bureau, and the British High Commission, the implementation of the LoI is expected to streamline efforts in combating illicit financial activities and enhancing security measures.

Prior to the agreement, discussions between Naqvi and Cleverly centered on strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UK. This initiative is set to pave the way for more effective collaboration in addressing security challenges faced by both countries.
