The Peshawar High Court directs the National Accountability Bureau to unfreeze bank accounts of a construction company, except those related to the Bus Rapid Transit project, allowing the company to resume financial activities and projects smoothly.

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has issued a directive to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) regarding the unfreezing of bank accounts belonging to a construction company involved in the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. This decision was made during a hearing of a writ petition by a division bench of the PHC, which included Justice SM Attique Shah and Justice Shakil Ahmad.

The petitioner's counsel informed the court that NAB had frozen all the company's bank accounts, leading to disruptions in its financial operations and ongoing projects. The petitioner emphasized that the company is actively involved in construction projects across the country and is facing difficulties in meeting financial obligations like staff salaries and routine expenses.

In response to these concerns, the NAB representative raised apprehensions about monitoring fund movements if the accounts were unfrozen. However, Justice Shakil Ahmad clarified that the directive only pertained to unfreezing accounts not associated with the BRT project. The court directed NAB to adhere to the order and grant access to the company's accounts, excluding those linked to the BRT project.

The PHC's decision to instruct NAB to unfreeze the construction company's bank accounts, except for the BRT project account, comes as a relief to the company, allowing it to resume its financial activities and continue its construction projects smoothly.
