On April 22, 2024, a seminar was held at Government Higher Secondary School Sinjhoro to commemorate World Earth Day. The event was organized by the SEPA team following the directives of provincial minister for environment, climate change, and coastal development, Dost Muhammad Rahimoon, along with secretary Environment Nabila Umar, and Director General SEPA Naeem Ahmed Mughal.

This year's Earth Day theme, 'Planet vs. Plastic,' shed light on the detrimental effects of plastic pollution on the environment.

Experts highlighted the urgent need to reduce plastic usage and suggested alternatives such as cloth, paper bags, and dry palm leaf baskets. Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, the SEPA district in-charge, emphasized the long lifespan of plastic and its harmful impact on human health, aquatic life, and the environment.

Earth Day serves as a reminder for individuals across all sectors to take responsibility and actively contribute towards creating a plastic-free environment. It is crucial for everyone to play their part in minimizing the use of plastic to safeguard our planet for future generations.
