World Vision Pakistan tackles birth registration challenges in Pakistan

Birth registration is a critical process that ensures every child's right to legal recognition and identity. Unfortunately, in many parts of the world, including Pakistan, a significant number of children remain unregistered due to various reasons.

One of the main causes of the persistent lack of birth registration in Pakistan is parental apathy and the insufficient awareness initiatives by the government. Without a birth certificate, children face numerous challenges in accessing essential services like healthcare and education.

In rural and isolated areas, where awareness about birth registration is low, many children go unnoticed by authorities, further exacerbating the problem. This lack of legal recognition not only deprives children of their rights but also leaves them vulnerable to exploitation and early marriages.

Organizations like World Vision Pakistan (WVP) are working with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to address the barriers to birth registration. However, more awareness initiatives, workshops, and campaigns are needed to reach every child in the country.
