The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan demands the public release of the Hamoodur Rahman Commission (HRC) Report to understand the reasons behind the country's division in 1971. Despite facing criticism, PTI stands firm on transparency, accountability, and learning from history to promote unity in Pakistan's political landscape.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has reiterated its demand for the public release of the Hamoodur Rahman Commission (HRC) Report, a document that investigates the events leading to the breakup of East Pakistan in 1971. Led by Imran Khan, the PTI stresses the importance of studying the report to identify the true reasons behind the country's division.

Recently, the PTI faced criticism and an investigation by the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Cyber Wing following a social media post by Imran Khan regarding the HRC report. Despite the backlash, the party stood firm on its call for the report's disclosure.

The PTI's Core Committee issued a statement emphasizing the urgency of releasing the HRC report to prevent similar challenges faced in the past. The party dismissed the FIA's investigation as unwarranted and tasked its legal team with formulating a response strategy.

Highlighting the political context of the 1971 events, the PTI stressed the importance of learning from history to avoid repeating mistakes. The party advocated for a return to constitutional norms and emphasized the significance of honoring the public's mandate.

The PTI clarified that its criticism was aimed at power-seeking individuals rather than the military as an institution. Additionally, plans for peaceful nationwide protests were announced, with Imran Khan set to lead the demonstrations.

In response, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif criticized Imran Khan's actions, cautioning against escalating tensions. Asif advised Imran to refrain from provocative statements and avoid revisiting sensitive historical events to prevent further discord.

The PTI's persistent call for the release of the HRC report underscores the party's commitment to transparency and accountability in addressing historical grievances. By advocating for a peaceful resolution and emphasizing the lessons of the past, the PTI aims to promote unity and understanding in Pakistan's political landscape.
