The parliamentary panel responsible for Judges Appointment is set to meet on Friday to discuss the potential promotion of three judges to the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Last week, the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) approved the elevation of Chief Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan and Justice Shahid Bilal from the Lahore High Court (LHC), as well as Chief Justice Aqeel Abbasi from the Sindh High Court (SHC) to the highest court in the country.

The JCP meeting, chaired by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and attended by esteemed members including Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Aminuddin Khan, Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Yahya Afridi, retired judge Manzoor Ahmad Malik, Attorney General of Pakistan Mansoor Awan, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, and Akhtar Hussain from the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), marked a significant step in the judicial process.
