Karachi witnesses a massive march for Palestinian solidarity, organized by Jamaat-e-Islami, condemning Israeli aggression and calling for unity.
KARACHI: On a significant Sunday, the streets of Karachi witnessed an overwhelming display of unity as hundreds of thousands of citizens marched along Shahrah-e-Faisal to show their solidarity with the Palestinian people and other victims of Israeli aggression. This massive gathering, known as the Alaqsa Million March, was organized by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), with participation from various political parties, including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
During the march, JI Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman addressed the crowd, passionately condemning Israel for its inhumane actions, brutalities, and what he termed as genocide against the Palestinian people. He expressed deep concern over the lack of action from the Muslim ummah, questioning how it was possible for the Muslim bloc to remain passive in the face of Israel's military might, which includes powerful armies, advanced airpower, and a stockpile of missiles, including nuclear weapons.
Rehman warned that if the Zionist regime in Israel was not confronted, no Muslim country would be safe from its aggression. He highlighted that the Israeli leadership had recently revealed its expansionist plans through a new map, which challenges the sovereignty of several nations, while the United Nations appeared powerless to intervene.
In a heartfelt tribute, he praised the resilience of the people of Gaza, who continue to endure immense suffering due to Israeli actions. He emphasized that the Pakistani nation stands united in support of the Palestinian cause, reflecting a shared sentiment among the participants of the march.
Other speakers, including PPP leader Nisar Khuhro, echoed these sentiments, condemning the ongoing brutalities faced by Palestinians. The event served not only as a platform for political expression but also as a reminder of the ongoing struggles faced by many around the world.
This march is a testament to the solidarity that exists among the people of Pakistan for the Palestinian cause. It highlights the importance of unity in the face of injustice and serves as a call to action for the international community to address the plight of those suffering under oppression. As the world watches, it is crucial for nations to come together and advocate for peace and justice, ensuring that the voices of the oppressed are heard and respected.
