Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, has announced plans to introduce several healthcare initiatives in the province to enhance emergency response and medical services.

During a recent meeting with health department officials, it was decided to launch an Air Ambulance Service within four months to address health emergencies effectively. Hayatabad Peshawar is set to be declared a Healthcare City, offering comprehensive medical facilities to local and international patients.

Furthermore, a Health Information and Service Delivery Unit will be established to monitor service delivery in public hospitals in real-time. A new Executive Health Checkup Program for senior citizens above 65 will provide free quarterly medical checkups, including lab tests and imaging services.

The Chief Minister has instructed authorities to strengthen the primary healthcare system by categorizing Basic Health Units and Rural Health Centres, ensuring essential services like OT, Gynae, and ultrasound facilities. Upgrading Tehsil Headquarter Hospitals and District Headquarter Hospitals to meet Sehat Card program standards is also a priority.

Moreover, fair price pharmacy shops will be opened in tertiary care and DHQ hospitals, and a new health policy will be formulated to modernize the healthcare sector. The Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of District Health Offices and called for a review to align their operations with current needs.

In conclusion, these initiatives aim to improve healthcare services across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ensuring better emergency response, enhanced medical facilities, and streamlined service delivery in public hospitals.
