The Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb, emphasized the need to develop strategies aimed at increasing the tax-to-GDP ratio and expanding the tax base to boost revenue collection during a recent visit to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters in Islamabad.

During a meeting with the Chairman of FBR and other Board Members, the Minister urged for concerted efforts to meet the revenue collection target for the current fiscal year. Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan was also in attendance, as per an official statement released by the FBR.

Chairman FBR, Malik Amjad Zubair Towana, provided a comprehensive overview of the revenue collection initiatives for the ongoing financial year (2023-24) and highlighted the steps being taken to digitize FBR operations for enhanced efficiency.

The meeting also addressed various issues, including the resolution of pending legal cases, with a decision made to formulate a comprehensive strategy to expedite the resolution of such cases for the timely recovery of outstanding revenues.
