Shazia Marri, Secretary Information for PPPP, urges NEC meeting for economic strategy, emphasizing relief measures, addressing power shortages, and supporting journalists.

The Secretary Information for PPPP, Shazia Marri, has stressed the importance of convening a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) to formulate a comprehensive economic strategy. Marri highlighted the need for balanced progress across the nation and praised President Asif Ali Zardari's efforts in empowering provinces. She urged the government to focus on providing relief to the public in the upcoming Federal budget and recommended subsidies for the underprivileged.

Last year, Rs. 22 billion was allocated to universities, with plans to increase it to Rs. 30 billion this year. Marri raised concerns about severe load shedding in Sindh, lasting up to 20 hours, and called for immediate action. She also pointed out the challenges of water shortages due to the inability to operate electric motors during power outages.

Responding to a query, Marri reiterated PPP's support for journalists, opposing defamation laws and standing in solidarity with them at protest camps. She emphasized PPP's commitment to addressing national issues and advocating for public rights.

Shazia Marri's call for a NEC meeting reflects PPPP's dedication to economic development and public welfare. By prioritizing relief measures, addressing power shortages, and supporting journalists, the party aims to create a more inclusive and prosperous society.
