Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan raises concerns about political interference, emphasizing the rule of law and advocating for a clear separation between political and law enforcement spheres to safeguard Pakistan's democratic principles.

Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan has raised concerns about the interference of certain institutions in political matters, emphasizing the detrimental impact such actions can have on the nation. Speaking alongside leaders from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Ayub highlighted the importance of upholding the rule of law and preventing law enforcement agencies from overstepping their boundaries.

Ayub drew parallels to historical events, such as the division of Pakistan in 1971, to caution against unilateral decisions that could lead to similar consequences. He referred to the current government as 'Form 47' and held it responsible for the current state of affairs in Pakistan.

During his address, Ayub issued a warning regarding the potential arrest of party members Hammad Azhar and Mian Aslam Iqbal, stating that any such actions would be met with condemnation in the assembly and peaceful protests nationwide. He defended Bushra Bibi, emphasizing her non-political background and denouncing the unjust repercussions she has faced.

Ayub stressed the importance of due legal processes for Azhar and Iqbal while criticizing incidents such as the search of a United Nations delegation by Islamabad police, as documented in a UN report. He also condemned a raid on PTI's central office, attributing responsibility for the incident to specific police officials.

Omar Ayub Khan's remarks shed light on the need for a clear separation between political and law enforcement spheres to ensure the stability and integrity of Pakistan's democratic processes. By advocating for adherence to legal procedures and condemning unwarranted interventions, Ayub underscores the importance of upholding the rule of law in safeguarding the nation's democratic principles.
