Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail appointed as the new Balochistan governor by PML-N, reflecting trust in his leadership despite recent election defeats.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has nominated Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail as the new Balochistan governor, replacing Abdul Wali Kakar from the Balochistan National Party. Mandokhail, the current president of PML-N's provincial chapter, expressed gratitude to Nawaz Sharif for the nomination and pledged to act as a bridge between the province and the Centre.

Following the February 8 polls, PML-N and PPP formed a coalition government. As part of the agreement, PPP nominated Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and Faisal Karim Kundi for the governor positions in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, respectively. Haider, a former federal minister, will replace Governor Baligh Ur Rehman, while Kundi is set to take oath as the KP governor.

Mandokhail, born in Quetta in 1956, has a long political career, starting from student politics in 1974. He has held various ministerial positions and contested elections under different party tickets. Despite facing defeats in recent elections, Mandokhail's nomination as governor reflects PML-N's trust in his leadership and experience.
