Authorities from SNGPL are cracking down on gas theft by conducting raids and disconnecting illegal connections in various regions, imposing significant fines on offenders to ensure compliance with regulations and prevent losses in the gas supply chain.

Authorities from SNGPL have intensified their efforts to curb gas theft, conducting raids in various regions and disconnecting multiple illegal connections. In Lahore, the regional team took action against 9 connections for unauthorized gas usage, imposing fines totaling Rs. 1.26 million. Similar operations were carried out in Multan, where 7 connections were disconnected for illegal use, and in Peshawar and Karak, resulting in the disconnection of 81 connections and fines amounting to Rs. 4.4 million.

The crackdown extended to other areas as well, with Rawalpindi disconnecting 2 connections and imposing fines of Rs. 0.10 million, Sahiwal disconnecting 1 connection, and Faisalabad disconnecting 1 connection and imposing fines of Rs. 0.43 million. In Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Mardan, Sargodha, and Gujrat, multiple connections were disconnected for illegal gas usage, with fines ranging from Rs. 0.1 million to Rs. 37.4 million.
