An inspection team from Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) recently uncovered instances of electricity theft in the Ravi Syphon area and Gogera Sub-Division. The team, led by LESCO Chief Executive Officer Engineer Shahid Haider, is conducting a rigorous operation to combat this illegal activity in the region.

In Ravi Syphon, the team discovered electricity theft at a farm house where a tube-well was being operated using stolen electricity. The wires used in the theft were seized, and a case was registered against the accused. Similarly, in Gogera Sub-Division, a customer was found pilfering electricity for a tube-well, resulting in a loss of Rs 400,000 to LESCO. The accused attempted to evade capture by burning out the power meter, but the authorities have taken action against the individual.

LESCO's spokesperson emphasized that electricity theft is a serious crime, and the company is committed to eradicating this practice. The anti-electricity theft campaign will persist until all instances of electricity theft are eliminated in the region.

The crackdown on electricity theft in Lahore highlights the determination of LESCO to combat illegal activities and ensure fair distribution of electricity resources.
