Yousaf Raza Gillani nominated as PPP's Senate Chairman candidate

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has officially nominated former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani as its candidate for the position of Senate Chairman. This decision was confirmed by Jamil Soomro, the political secretary of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, putting an end to speculations that another former Prime Minister, Anwaar Kakar, would be selected for the role.

Following an agreement between PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), certain key positions were allocated. The PPP secured positions such as the president, Senate chairman, and governorships of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Conversely, PML-N was granted the roles of Senate deputy chairman, National Assembly speaker, and governorships of Sindh and Balochistan.
