Mostafa Rashed Nada prepares for the PFL 'Battle of The Giants' in Saudi Arabia, marking a significant moment for MMA in the region.
On October 19, the Professional Fighters League (PFL) will return to Saudi Arabia, bringing with it an exciting lineup of mixed martial arts (MMA) talent for the event titled "Battle of The Giants: Brace For Impact." This event is set to take place at the Mayadeen, where some of the biggest names in the sport will compete. Among these fighters is Mostafa Rashed Nada, a 36-year-old Saudi MMA star who has made a name for himself in the PFL SmartCage.
Nada, who fights in the 185-pound category, is currently undefeated in the PFL. He made his debut in 2023, achieving a remarkable victory by technical knockout in the first round against Korey Kupp. Following this impressive start, he secured another first-round stoppage win over Abdel Driai in the main event of PFL MENA 2 earlier this year. Now, he is set to face Egyptian newcomer Ahmed Sami in what is being hailed as the biggest MMA event of the year.
For Nada, this opportunity is more than just a fight; it is the realization of a childhood dream. He expressed his excitement, stating, "Competing on the international stage has been a childhood dream of mine, and I am happy to be the first fighter from Saudi Arabia to compete in a huge PFL event like this." His pride in representing his country is evident, and he believes that "Battle of The Giants" has the potential to be the must-see MMA event of the year.
Nada acknowledges that Saudi Arabia is becoming a prominent location for major PFL events. He remarked, "It’s not new for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to host an event of this size, but of course I’m very excited and proud to be part of it. I believe it’s going to be one of, if not the biggest event in the country this year." As a leading figure in Saudi MMA, Nada understands the significance of showcasing the Kingdom on a global stage.
Moreover, he recognizes the positive impact that PFL MENA has had on the region, particularly in promoting the sport of MMA. "Having the PFL in Saudi Arabia is great, and PFL MENA has been an amazing platform for all Saudis and Arabs to embark on becoming professional mixed martial artists and one day compete on the global stage that is the PFL, alongside the best fighters in the world," Nada explained. His ambition is clear: he wants to demonstrate that Arabian fighters are ready to compete at the highest levels, emphasizing their skills and moral values.
As the event approaches, anticipation builds not only for Nada's fight but also for the main event, which will feature Francis Ngannou facing Renan Ferreira for the PFL Super Fights Championship. Additionally, Cris "Cyborg" will take on Larissa Pacheco in the co-main event. The "Battle of The Giants: Brace For Impact" promises to be a thrilling showcase of talent and determination.
The upcoming PFL event in Saudi Arabia is not just a fight night; it represents a significant moment for the growth of MMA in the region. With fighters like Mostafa Rashed Nada leading the charge, the future of Arabian MMA looks bright. As fans eagerly await the event, it is clear that this is a pivotal moment for both the fighters and the sport itself, paving the way for future generations of athletes in the Middle East.
