Muhammed Alam Emerges as Champion in Golf Championship

The 2nd President Punjab Golf Association Open Golf Championship recently took place at the Defence Raya Golf Course in Lahore, where Muhammed Alam from Lahore Garrison Greens Golf Club emerged as the champion. Despite facing tough competition from renowned golfers like Ahmed Baig and Muhammed Shabbir, Alam showcased exceptional talent and secured the title.

Throughout the tournament, Alam displayed consistent and dominant performance, maintaining his composure even in the face of pressure. Starting the final round with a five-stroke lead over Ahmed Baig, Alam held his ground and finished with an impressive aggregate score of 204, twelve under par, securing his victory.

Ahmed Baig, although falling short of the top position, delivered a commendable performance with scores of 65, 71, and 69 over three rounds. Other notable professionals such as M Shahzad, M Zubair, M Shabbir, Talat Ijaz, Abdul Zahoor, and Shahid Javed also showcased their skills in the championship.

In the senior professionals' category, M Tariq emerged as the winner, followed by M Naseer and M Akram. Shahbaz Ali claimed the title in the junior professionals' division. Among the invitational winners, Muhammed Abid led the gross category, while Saeedul Haseeb secured the first prize in the net category.

The championship concluded with a grand ceremony where the top performers received their awards from Lt Gen Abdul Aziz, President of the Punjab Golf Association, and other dignitaries representing the event sponsors.
