Nelly Korda leads the Chevron Championship with Brooke Henderson making a strong surge, promising an exciting final round after a weather-induced interruption.

The Chevron Championship faced a weather-induced interruption during the third round, with Nelly Korda trailing by just one shot before play was suspended due to lightning. Korda, aiming to secure her fifth consecutive victory and potentially match a remarkable LPGA Tour record, was at 10 under overall, with a 3-under 41 score through 11 holes in the third round. The tournament at Carlton Woods was halted on Saturday afternoon and officially called off for the day due to unsafe conditions, with the third round set to resume on Sunday morning.

Korda, the top-ranked player, had entered Saturday trailing by one shot after a strong start in the first two rounds. She is eyeing her second major title following her Women's PGA Championship win in 2021. If successful, Korda could join the elite company of Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam as the only players to achieve five consecutive LPGA victories.

Canadian golfer Brooke Henderson made a significant surge up the leaderboard, tying with Korda for second place after shooting an impressive 8-under 59 through 17 holes on Saturday. Henderson's exceptional putting performance, including a streak of 10 one-putts with six birdies and an eagle, propelled her into contention for the title.

Atthaya Thitikul held the lead at 11 under through 12 holes before the suspension of play. Thitikul, who started the round tied for the lead with Jin Hee Im, will resume her quest for victory when play resumes on Sunday.

The tournament promises an exciting conclusion as Korda, Henderson, and Thitikul vie for the prestigious Chevron Championship title, setting the stage for a thrilling final round on Sunday.
