Pakistani golfer Omar Khalid showcased his skills at the 38th Qatar Open Golf Championship, finishing in an impressive fourth place at the Doha Golf Club. The 19-year-old golfer, the sole representative from Pakistan among nearly 100 players from 30 countries, displayed determination and strategic acumen throughout the tournament.

Despite facing challenges, Khalid entered the final round with a strong chance of securing a top position. However, a risky move on the 18th hole cost him a higher placement, landing him behind Ireland’s Keith Crawley. Khalid acknowledged the difficulty of the fast greens at the course compared to those in Pakistan, affecting his putting performance.

Over the 54-hole championship, Khalid's rounds of 75, 76, and 75 highlighted his potential in major amateur events in the region. His journey in the tournament was marked by ups and downs, with early bogeys followed by a strong recovery with birdies on crucial holes. Despite a double bogey on the back nine, Khalid managed to finish with a respectable score.

Omar Khalid, the youngest national amateur champion of Pakistan, demonstrated his talent on the challenging 7500-yard course of the Doha Golf Club. The championship title went to Calum Fitzgerald of England, who secured a spot in the prestigious Qatar Masters event with a final round score of 76.
