Severe winds and thunderstorms on Thursday wreaked havoc on the power supply in Islamabad, affecting multiple 11 kV feeders operated by the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO). The affected areas included Khana Dak, Angori, Golra 2, Scheme 2, Hasanabdal, Fateh Jang, Ghoor Ghasti, Shadi Khan, Dhok Chaudhary, Dhok Hassu, Westridge, Asghar Mal, Faizabad, and 4th Road, where residents experienced power outages. Furthermore, feeders supplying electricity to Lathrar, Kahuta City, Mandra, Dhamial Road, Kalyam, Sehila College, Chak Bali, Shamsabad, and Makkha Chowk were also impacted, leaving many without electricity.

The operational teams at IESCO are currently working tirelessly to restore power to the affected areas. Dr. Muhammad Amjad, the Chief of IESCO, has issued directives for the immediate restoration of electricity to ensure minimal disruption for the residents. IESCO has extended its apologies to customers for any inconvenience caused by these temporary power outages.
