Karachi prepares for monsoon season amid scorching temperatures

The Meteorological Office has forecasted prolonged heat in most regions of Sindh until June 20, with isolated rain and thunderstorms predicted in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, and Larkana on June 21 and 22. Special warnings have been issued regarding lightning, gusty winds, and the susceptibility of structures and vehicles to weather-related risks. Authorities have been urged to remain vigilant and take necessary safety measures.

Currently, a continental air mass dominates most parts of the country, while moist currents from the Arabian Sea are likely to impact the upper and central regions. By June 18, a shallow westerly wave is expected to approach western areas, potentially bringing relief from the prevailing heat.
