The Chairman of the Kashmir Institute of International Relations criticizes India's development narrative in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting concerns over demographic changes and temple construction, emphasizing the need for international attention to address rights violations faced by Kashmiris.

Amid ongoing tensions in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Chairman of the Kashmir Institute of International Relations and a senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference has strongly criticized India's assertions of development and normalcy in the region. Since August 5, 2019, Kashmiris have faced severe challenges, being stripped of their identity and denied their economic, social, and political rights by the Hindutva regime.

Speaking at a press conference in Athens, the Chairman highlighted the grim reality faced by Kashmiris under Indian rule. He condemned India's development narrative as a facade to mask its colonization agenda, which has brought little benefit to the local population. The Chairman pointed out that India has implemented various tactics, including changes in laws like the domicile law, to grant job opportunities, voting rights, and land ownership in the disputed territory.

These actions, as per the Chairman, indicate a deliberate effort to change the demographic and religious composition of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He raised concerns over the increasing construction of Hindu temples in the region, with plans for thousands more under the Modi government's directives. The allocation of funds and land for temple construction reflects a systematic campaign to reshape the cultural and religious landscape of the area.

The situation in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir remains contentious, with Kashmiri leaders like the Chairman of the Kashmir Institute of International Relations shedding light on the challenges faced by the local population. India's claims of development and normalcy are being scrutinized, revealing deeper issues of identity deprivation and rights violations. The concerns raised by the Chairman underscore the need for international attention and action to address the plight of Kashmiris and uphold their fundamental rights.
