The 50th Arab Labor Conference in Baghdad, led by Saudi Deputy Minister, focuses on labor market development, skills training, and Saudi Arabia's investment in human resources. Discussions include Arab participation in the International Labor Conference.

The 50th session of the Arab Labor Conference is currently underway in Baghdad, with representatives from 21 Arab countries, employers’ organizations, labor unions, and various Arab and international organizations in attendance. The conference, led by Saudi Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor, Abdullah bin Nasser Abu Thanin, aims to address key issues related to labor market development and skills training.

During the opening session, notable figures such as Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and International Labor Organization Director General Gilbert Houngbo were present. Abu Thanin emphasized the importance of early qualification and training to meet the evolving needs of the labor market, focusing on technical, personal, and social skills, as well as modern work patterns.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to investing in human resources through Vision 2030 programs and labor market strategies was highlighted. Abu Thanin also mentioned the ministry's initiative to host the Global Labor Market Conference in collaboration with international organizations, aiming to plan for future changes in the labor market.

Discussions at the conference will cover various topics, including Arab participation in the upcoming International Labor Conference in Geneva. The Arab Labor Organization, established in 1965 under the Arab League, plays a crucial role in addressing labor and workers' affairs across the Arab world.
