The ML-1 project, spanning a total length of 1,872km, will have a design speed of 160 km/hr and an operating speed of 120-140 km/hr. Originally identified as an Early Harvest Project (EHP) of CPEC in 2014, the ML-1 project has undergone extensive feasibility studies and strategic agreements between Pakistan and China. This initiative is crucial for enhancing the country's railway infrastructure and promoting economic development through improved connectivity and transportation efficiency.

Other Approved Projects and Recommendations

In addition to the ML-1 project, the CDWP has also approved seven other development projects totaling Rs 23 billion and recommended four projects to the ECNEC for further assessment. These projects span various sectors including transport & communication, education, higher education, health, food & agriculture, information technology, and physical planning & housing.
