Chairman FBR, Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana, engages with taxpayers directly through E-Kachehri and leads a crackdown on illicit tobacco trade to enhance tax compliance and revenue integrity.

Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana, conducted an E-Kachehri at the FBR Headquarters to engage with taxpayers directly and offer immediate assistance. The E-Kachehri serves as a platform for taxpayers to raise their issues and provide feedback on tax-related matters. During the session, Chairman FBR personally took phone calls from taxpayers, addressing their grievances and providing real-time solutions by instructing relevant departments.

He commended taxpayers for their valuable suggestions and assured them of careful consideration. Emphasizing FBR's commitment to enhancing taxpayer services and promoting tax compliance nationwide, Chairman FBR reiterated the organization's dedication to facilitating taxpayers promptly.

Furthermore, in a proactive move against tax evasion, FBR, under the leadership of Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana and Member Inland Revenue (Operations) Mir Badshah Khan Wazir, conducted a nationwide crackdown on counterfeit cigarettes. The operation resulted in the seizure of 1,235 packs of non-stamped cigarettes worth approximately Rs. 96 million. Additionally, 33 retail outlets were sealed for engaging in illicit tobacco trade.

Despite resource constraints, FBR's Inland Revenue Enforcement Network, comprising 204 teams and 1,047 personnel, is diligently working to eliminate illicit tobacco trading. Chairman FBR and Member Inland Revenue (Operations) praised the efforts of the field formations in combating this illegal activity and emphasized strict actions against offenders, including potential arrests for repeat violations.

The E-Kachehri initiative by Chairman FBR reflects a proactive approach to address taxpayers' concerns and enhance tax compliance. The crackdown on illicit tobacco trade underscores FBR's commitment to curbing tax evasion and ensuring revenue integrity through stringent enforcement measures.
