The Punjab government under Chief Secretary Punjab's leadership implements initiatives to support farmers, improve agricultural output, and address public health challenges.

The Punjab government has taken significant steps to enhance agricultural practices and address public health concerns in the province. One of the key initiatives is the establishment of 'Sahulat' centers in each tehsil to provide farmers with access to high-quality pesticides at affordable prices. Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman recently led a meeting with divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners to review various programs and targets.

During the meeting, Chief Secretary Zaman emphasized the importance of closely monitoring cotton cultivation targets, measles cases, and the Suthra Punjab program. He directed commissioners in Bahawalpur, Multan, and DG Khan to oversee cotton crops closely, while deputy commissioners were tasked with monitoring urea fertilizer prices and ensuring adequate supply.

Furthermore, the government has integrated the health sector into the key performance indicators for deputy commissioners, highlighting a commitment to improving healthcare services. In a bid to regulate illegal cattle sales, a pre-Eid crackdown has been initiated, with dedicated enforcement squads in place.

The agriculture secretary set an ambitious target of four million acres for cotton sowing in the province, aiming to boost agricultural productivity. Meanwhile, the health secretary reported on the measles outbreak, with a significant number of confirmed cases and hospitalizations. To combat the spread of measles, medical camps and mobile clinics have been deployed in affected areas.

The Punjab government's proactive measures to support farmers, enhance agricultural output, and address public health challenges demonstrate a commitment to the well-being of its citizens. By prioritizing key sectors such as agriculture and health, the government aims to create a more sustainable and healthy environment for all residents of the province.
