The Ministry of Privatisation has revealed that six companies/consortiums have been pre-qualified for the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) privatisation process. The entities that have been pre-qualified include Air Blue, Arif Habib Corporation, Blue World City, Fly Jinnah, Pak Ethanol Consortium, and YB Holdings Consortium.

These pre-qualified companies/consortiums will now have the opportunity to participate in the bidding process for PIA. Minister Aleem Khan stressed the importance of maintaining transparency and efficiency in the privatisation of financially struggling institutions. He also highlighted the need to assess the technical and financial stability of the entities involved in the privatisation process.

Furthermore, the minister reaffirmed the government's dedication to privatizing loss-making institutions as part of broader efforts to bolster the national economy. He emphasized the significance of live broadcasting the privatisation proceedings on media platforms to ensure transparency throughout the entire process.

By involving multiple entities in the bidding process, the goal is to find a suitable buyer for PIA that can ensure its long-term sustainability and growth.
